Breda cams for 8v TC spec.

Post by Walezy »

Hello Guy,
My friend asked me to try to find out what is the spec of the cams that he has for Fiat 2.0 8v TC. He has Breda G 215 cams.
I attach the pictures of his cams below.
Can you help me with identification of those cams?
Regards
Tomasz

Crikey, that's not much to go on! No number codes on the shafts themselves?

Well, there is no point in looking further and frankly it matters little.

Of course you can get someone to map the cams - but what would you do with the information? Mapping is a good way of comparing one cam with another, but in this case you have a rare set of Breda cams and will no doubt fit them anyway!

Just set clearances at 16thou inlet 18 thou ex and time at anything from 106-110 deg. You will find out the lift at tdc when you have fitted them to the head and you can map the lift around tdc and by checking valve clearances and then later alter the cam timing afely until you get the performance characteristic you want.

Go thru the regime described in the attached GC 'How to' religiously.
