Flywheel question

Hello Guy.

I am changing the gearbox on my swift gti, and I was about to change the flywheel for one I bought that is 0.6Kg lighter when I saw that there are more holes on the light one and I'm afraid to make the engine unbalanced.. The question is what would happen if I assemble the ligther flywheel, would it be that dangerous for engine's health?

I think those are just shallow 'holes' where metal has been removed for balancing, but irrespective of what they are, in that location they will not affect the strength of the FW in any way. Make sure you get the crank and FW balanced because otherwise you risk an imbalance between them that can break the FW bolts and cause seriou damage/injury.

Well, I was expecting that answer, but even so, I decided to assemble the lighter FW having the holes on the same orientation of the other FW when it was mounted and the engine does not seem to be unbalanced, and is revving faster as expected. The FW belonged to another G13B engine.
