Tomek, nobody here knows or has reasons to believe otherwise. It is a replica and definitely incomplete (it can never be a complete replica or it would be an original ... (LOL)
You are absolutely right. It is only a replica , even though it is on an original diff and suspension. But I am not referring to level of originality , but the model.
RE Mini : As the Mini broke down on the first stage and never returned I did not see it during the rally I had to look hard on the net to find what it looked like -
It certainly is not a Mini Morris Cooper 1275 S ( or its replica)
I also looked for the Escort , and I stand corrected ; The car is a replica of Ford Escort (Mk II) RS 1800. and the looks is fine, too.
Almost like the Ari Vatanen car .
What I mean is the model (regardless of this is a replica or not).
A lot of young people who are auto sports fans who have come to see this rally (sometimes from very distant places) have never seen the 60,'s 70''s and 80's rally cars on a rally stage. To them it does not matter where are the hinges on a mini door, how does the grill look like, and if the speedo is on the left side of in the center. Such events should give them a opportunity to see all this and learn. This is the only point I made.
I am sure you now all that, as yours is also a fine Fiat 131 Abarth Rally Gr 4 replica with a Toyota engine and a BMW diff.

If you search youtube for MANX and SNIJERS, you can see "a breathtaking display of forceful driving".
Also I think Mazda rallied the 323GTR, but I am not sure...
BTW, I am glad you are happy now with your car, looks spectacular on the pictures!

I thank you for the correction.
As you can imagine I am not a BMW fan or expert, and I only looked at the WRC listing. All of these cars probably had some sort of Rally history, the question is only how recent and how great.
Re: Mazda - I did check and found that in 1991 Mazda made 2500 FIA Group A homologation cars named 323 GT-R.
However, I am too old old to think of 1991 cars as historic or legends. To me they are recent models. Some of my senior friends believe that anything past 1945 is a youngtimer. It is only a matter of age... (LOL)
For real legends I would really look for the RMC Historiuqe for age cut off date and the RMC winners. But this is only a point of view...
Incidentally all of the cars listed as RMC winners between 1950 ans 1985 I would consider rally legends.

Whether the comments are made in a generous spirit or not - all readers kindly 'get off' the subject of 'replicas' vs 'originals'.
This thread is about the worthy creation of a replica.
The end.
Thanks.

Re: My 131 abarth (never ending) story 2011 season update
Miro has posted some smashing on-board film of the latest rally at:
http://131abarth.pl/?page_id=371
In one of the films the navigator is yelling very loudly something like 'prosto' - don't be alarmed (I rang Miro to find out..) apparently it just means 'straight'..!
BTW - I find that when I open his marvellous new website the screen has funny lines across it - they disappear if you press the 'refresh' command on your internet browser.

The M3 E30 ProDrive prototype car/shell was bought by a Dutch guy. I believe they got it finished this or last year and it's now road legal and used for classic rally events.

Re: My 131 abarth (never ending) story 2011 season update
Guy,
The site was tested by all of my friends here operating from Mac to Unix and all known even exotic internet software and adjusted not to operate improperly under any of them. Nobody even signaled any problems,
I am using Mozilla - due to my deeply embedded dislike for MS i.e. logic . But I have do have also i.e version 8 installed. I just tested it on the site and came up with perfect display.
I would think this is not the i.e. 8 which causes the problem
What operating system are you using ? MS Windows XP / 7 ?
( I am using WS Windows XP Professional version 2002 Service Pack 3)
The problem may be in anywhere, from the page code to the configuration of internet access you are using.
Nevertheless I have passed it to the guys who wrote the code to verify and make sure this is not caused by our page.
Please let me know operating system are you using ? MS Windows XP / 7 ? Is all your system and internet related software including the Flashplayer updated with most current versions? Have you experienced similar problems with any other page?
Miro
PS Anybody else experienced similar distorted view of the page ? Please met me know.

I'm on the same operating platform as you. My system is completely glitch-free & stable.
It happens on the movie page too. I have never seen this happen on any other website. As I said the lines vanish when I press 'refresh' ie: it's not loading up right first time.

Re: My 131 abarth (never ending) story 2011 season update
You may find this hard to believe but a good rally wheel should be designed to run on the rim for many miles, not that such a state is desirable..
I heard this from Revolution Wheels many years ago when I had some of their wheels made for my 124 CSA.
Seems like your mfr got the design right!
