Peugeot 205 GTI dedicated track/race car

Hello all at the GCRE forum.

Almost all the pug people on here would recognise this car, but for everyone else I'll provide the details of my latest project.

The project started last december when my last engine became very sick with only about 1000 miles under it's belt. Not wanting to go into the details or history I though i'd provide the details of the current build. the car should be on the rollers in about 3 weeks from now.

Base engine is the 1.9 GTI XU9JA, with the following modifications being completed:

Engine

Mi16 88mm Balanced Nitrided crank
Omega 83.5mm Works Group A Forged Pistons (ceramic coated piston tops)
IAPEL 83.5mm liners
Ferreday Copper headgasket with silicone coating
Optimised compression ratio (12.1+) and squish height
Balanced crank, rods, pistons, flywheel and clutch cover
XU10J4 26T oil pump sprocket and 52 link chain
ARP big end bolts

Longmans Group A head (with +1mm single piece stainless steel valves, standard size exhaust valves)
Catcams 4900361 camshaft (duration 276‚° @ 1mm and 5.25mm lift at TDC)
Catcams venier pulley
KMS 90mm trumpets with custom injector boss to run 4 outer injectors)
8 injectors
Custom made 45mm trumpet spacers (length to be determined on RR)
Longmans 4 branch manifold (ceramic coated)
Longmans ported mangoletsi inlet manifold

KMS 45mm TBs.
New water pump
Piper cambelt

Ancillary

KMS ECU
DES-developments race proven baffled sump
Brise lightweight starter motor
Aluminium Flywheel (3.8kgs) supplied by QEP
External cam timing sensor & bracket supplied by QEP
AP Racing paddle Clutch supplied by AB Motorsport
VEMS AFM
Accusump Oil Pressure accumulator
des-developments custom exhast. Dismeter to be determined on the RR. Testing both 2" and 2.25" for effect on torque curve and noise

Gearbox

1.9 ratios with mi16 final drive (4.43)
Tran-x LSD (45 deg ramp angles)
Short shift
Rose jointed rods

MODEL POST!

Full of great tech detail and some good photos too. As it happens I like those cars, I know how well the handle and how very fast they are even standard!
When we were doing NHRA in the early-mid 90's it took us many months of track and dyno test to get past the very well-developed Alan Sherwood/Mass Peugeot SOHC 1.9 engines with our 8v TC Fiat. That took me by suprise at the time!

I know something about that car too - sweet !
Great project keep up !

I love this car so much i have one for five years now and still can't get bord with it so i'm going to buy one more , one standard for every day drving and one modified for weekend racing !
