I have just re-positioned my oil cooler in my racing Punto, I have fixed it vertically to the chassis in front of the gearbox and have the flow coming from the pump side of the filter sandwich to the top of the cooler exiting out of the bottom and into the filter. will post pictures later. I have read the topic about the oil syphoning back out of the filter and will get the anti syphon oil filter. I have a oil temp pick up in the oil pipes that run to the cooler. My question is on which side of the cooler would it be best to monitor the temp, going into the cooler or coming out? Iam thinking going into the cooler!.

From my very limited knowledge I would say pre-cooler temps are what you're after. That way you can see what your engine is doing to the oil in terms of heating it. Ideally you'd have post cooler temps too, to ensure the cooler is effective.
