Hi, can i please check with you experts on the interchangability of cyl. blocks on the Fiat / Lancia twin cam range. Will the 130 Abarth fit / mate to the 131 (inline) gearbox? Is the rear flange the same? Also any other major differences on engine mounts etc?
Many thanks

The engine to gearbox 4 off mounting points are common all of the 4 cyl TCs 8 and 16v early and late.
The Fiat Strada 130 TC block with crank fw from same will marry to the 131/132 5 speed 1600 or 2 liter gearbox and accept starter from same. This is pretty-well true of all of the post 1973 non balance shaft TCs. The ones you have to be careful with are the 124/125 1438/1608 units with early gearbox and different flywheel.
Engine mounts - 4 bolt fixing on engine C of G are common too. The only thing you must do is with the 130TC crank: fit a gearbox input shaft support bearing and shorten the gearbox input shaft. That crank is for transverse and has a small bush which needs to be removed and a shallow counterbore. If you don't modify the input shaft it will be hard up against the crank and burn out the thrust washers.
