Fiat Tipo 1.6 i.e Tuning

Hi Guy
I have a 1993 Fiat Tipo SX 1.6 i.e with Single Point Injection
attached to my manifold.
I was thinking about swapping my S.P.I with a carburettor from a Similar Tempra Engine , I'm From Egypt and we have a locally assembled Tempra with 1.6 L engines, so I was going with the idea of swapping the carburettor and manifold.
I was wondering about 2 things:
1) will my ignition system work with the carburettor ? I have a Digiplex 2 unit and a distributor with a rotor arm and a coil lead attached to my battery base.
2) what about the plugs and sensors currently attached to my S.P.I like stepper motor for example, I was wondering how I can override them?
