2.0 injection build for Triumph Spitfire

Hi there ,
If I might say firstly , I imagine many people would love to see this forum return to more life .
There must still be many thousands of Fiat/Lancia twin cam owners out there .
Sharing is of great value to many people .
Yes , most topics have been fairly well covered within the forum but there will always be those re-engaging with their projects , others with new ideas/vehicles/products and of course continuous fresh owners needing friendly support/guidance . So do start posting again please .
OK , I am still slowly ( and blindly ) pushing towards my 2.0 injection engine build , finances providing of course .
It is a great shame it’s progress will not benefit from GC’s experience in person but with combined guidance/help from others it will hopefully come together .
I am no engine builder myself , just a motor dreamer but I do have some experience with design/engineering having been involved in amateur patent design for products relating mainly to my work in home maintenance including plumbing/appliances/household fittings/door locks etc ( sadly no royalties made to date though ;-) ) but I can slowly learn with good teaching . I am well aware that there is far too much motor tech out there to learn it all but every little bit helps .
The only MAIN component hopefully still missing for the build is race rods . I have though spoken via texts with Gloria ( Hi Gloria ) regarding supply although I have since realised though that I failed to confirm if these are supplied with bolts ? ARP ? I will try and call tomorrow . There are a few other items Gloria might also be able to supply but before confirming these with her I will first need some guidance .
I will trawl through the parts available and parts owned shortly and post relevant questions as they come to me ; your suggestions will be gratefully received indeed .
In brief , I am hoping , money permitting , that Lain at SMD in Sittingbourne will have time next month to take an initial look at building up a short block for this engine . With no success so far in finding a good standard size 2.0 crank , I am now considering using one of my two new short blocks for the 2.0 injection build and one to replace the block on the rebuilt 130tc engine which has the reground crank .
These two short blocks I purchased came from two separate sources but interestingly have the same block number , 132 DB 2AO - 4356114
However the additional codes are different , block 1 ) 132 D1 000 1452826 block 2 ) 124 R14 1440030 .
Let’s hope Lain decides they are both sound .
As some of you will know , Steven ( WAL ) and his father , came down to pick up my GC VX 1585 engine . This I believe is intended for Steven’s fathers new Mogi van build which I am sure you will soon be seeing on here .
Very good to meet them and I hope they will be happy with the purchase . Thank you both .
I have retained the dry sump and Titan pump and bracket GC supplied with the 1585 engine and this sump initially seems to clear the 2.0 new short block crank . As well as the obvious advantages I need the dry sump system as the it’s design gives clearance on my Spitfires suspension turret and front cross member .
Current thinking ;
if all checks out I am looking to use one of the new 2.0 short blocks with ; oil way mods , ancillary shaft mods , RWD mods if required , tri-metal bearings , forged HC pistons , race rods , race weight flywheel , all fully balanced .
Electric Davies Craig water pump and digital fan controller unit , swirl pot , Caterham race radiator , race 95 amp alternator , lightweight starter , Accusump , Allison’s billet aluminium crank pulley .
The block will be topped with the fully worked delta big valve 47/38 reverse port head I purchased ( inlet 8mm exhaust 7mm ) with Isky double valve springs ( currently singles on exhaust ) , 1” belt on Allison’s adjustable cam wheels , Allison’s header , ATR throttle bodies on a Webcon manifold , pipercross sock filters , cool air supply , Omex 600 , mainly Sytec fuel supply , twin aluminium tanks with twin red top pumps .
This is linked via a GC adapter and Tilton twin cerametallic hydraulic clutch to a TranX ally Ford type 9 race box leading to a Subaru/Kazz/AP suretrac diff .
Sorry if the COVID vodka has left this a little B grade :-)
If allowed I will post a link to my Flickr album ?
Thank you , Matt SE London
