Historic Racing 128sl

Hi all.
New here. Thought I'd show off a few pics of my car. Pics are too big to post so try the link. Its been 2 yrs in the making. It's heading towards being a proper Grp2 car but it's more of a Grp1.5 at present. Twin 40's, UK Fiat racing spec engine, 4 branch manifold, Leda Coilovers all round, front/rear anti roll bar etc. However badly in need of an lsd if anyone has one as I'm being murdered by minis! Also, does anyone do or know of Grp2 arches and fiberglass panels for one of these?

Handsome, interesting vehicle and the photos look good on your link, thanks for working with me on re-posting.

Check out 'sales and wants', we have a couple of members who specialise in LS units.

Hi ,

Good to see another 128 coupe,I just got hold of a manifold for 2 x 40 DCOE's and wandered where I could get the same linkage you have?

throttle cables

Post by fiat124sedan »

Hi there - can you please excuse my ignorance and explain to me the operation of the twin throttle cables? I understand having an extra/redundant return spring, but not cables. Is one a hand throttle?

No science there, sorry!

Twin throttle cables is really just an old rally trick, two cables - in case one breaks.
Having two also reduces wear on the throttle quadrant/actuator because you don't have one cable levering the thing to one side all the time.
