Hi!
Just got my new citycar/workcar home.
It is in need of a general overhaul and rebuild of the complete suspension, as the ride is very .... messed up to be honest.
A new fast road engine is already in the process -

- Its a not a beauty, a few battlescars - but I could not resist it. Its practical and has a beautiful engine....

- Sold on the wheels/tires, Minilite copies with correct 4*98 and a bit more rubber to go on. This kiddo now wants to sleep in the car not in his bed....

Engine still under build.

- Roughed out to the dimensions I want - around 27 mm intake port, 25*29 mm on smallest exhaust point - this is for a city car with low and midrange torque in mind.

- I have removed quite a lot of material from the sides of the bowl leading down to valveseats - planning to increase the internal diameter of the valve seat from 30 ---> 32 mm to fit a 36.2 mm valve. The combustion chamber is aslo opened up to the gasket firering - is a bit close to the inlet valve at a few places

I have got hold of a Ritmo 85 camshaft - still not measured it duration/timing but it has 0.3 mm higher lift than the original camshaft....not much.... will figure out what to do.
Will probabaly also install electronic ignition from an x1/9.
Overhauled Solex 40C ADDHE now on the shelf waiting for Jets etc
Old Supersprint 4-2-1 long manifold (about 35" total length)
Thin head gasket 1.1 mm compressed

Nice...
I learnt to drive in a blue one of these in the 80s, which my dad had to make deliveries from the family shop.
It was a great car until it broke its belt.
Probably what got me going in Italian machinery too.
All my mates bought wheezy old Fiesta's, I bought an orange 127 1050 Sport & left them in my wake.
Looking back, it seems a bit scary to remember the flat out 4th gear revs being pulled.
Back then I was 20 yrs old with not much mechanical sympathy.
I drove it foot flat on the floor everywhere and the car just took the punishment.
Eventually, I swapped it for a 127 1300GT with the luxury of a 5spd gearbox - in retrospect a bad move !.
Anyway, enough of me thinking about about the good old days.
Yours is a good project, enjoy the rebuild AND the driving experience.
Rgds, Matt

Thanks Matt!
Yep - the 127 Sport is something else!! Cool cars and getting scarce!
Personally I started my driving in a rusty Ritmo/Strada 85S, then got hooked on the 130 TC`s.....still are:-)
Regarding the gearing the Panorama has a 4.40 final drive - this will be changed to a 3.76 from a Ritmo or I might even go for a 5 speed box. Do not know yet.

Slow progress on the engine.
Have been waiting for a long time now for suspension parts to arrive.....getting a bit annoyed by that.
Found the Supersprint manifold, probably not perfect, but it is what I have at hand - hopefully better than the stock 4-1 cast iron manifold anyway.

Still waiting for paid suspesion parts from former Yugoslavia. Obviously a mixed bunch of vendors out there..... Now 2 months without any replys to my emails. Really annoying to be scammed on parts.... Luckily I have several suppliers to choose from, so progress will not stall completely.

Slow progress here.
Sending car for welding in new frame for front windscreen. Tired of waiting forever for suspension parts from a #*###*! Croatian dealer.....I have now ordered and recieved the same parts now from another reliable source.
Just had the head back from the machinist to open up the valve seat throats a little. Intake from 30-32 mm, ex from 27-28mm.
Will post some pics soon.
