Compatible engine blocks Fiat/Lancia 16vt

I was wondering if anyone has used a Strada/Ritmo Abarth Engineblock on a Integrale/Fiat coupe16vt

I'm going for a rebuild/upgrade next year and if I could use this block it would save me considerable weight.

Reason I ask is that I have access to three engines but they are at the other side of the country so thought I would check first..

Any suggestions welcome

don't try this, it's completely difference setup.

1. The 8V oil pump is not crank nose driven so you immediately have an incompatible sump layout
2. The region around the oil filter housing on the 8V does not have the six-bolt mount provision
3. 8V cam belt form and pulley layout is different
4. Coupe flywheel bigger friction face changing means balancing the crank assy..
5. Different water pump setup not interchangable and that means cambelt covers

etc etc

Stay with the original block is my advice. Doing a 16v conversion (with the right pistons etc) in a non-Coupe type installation is relatively straightforward but this is NOT!! I would not want to advise on an alteration to the Coupe layount on that scale..

Thank you, saved me hours of work there!
Is there any non balance shafted engine blocks that are compatible?

No!

please forget this idea!!

Anyone who is thinking of writing 'this is easy' or it can be done with days of thinking and alteration/work - please don't!
