Hoses for oil cooler

Hi

The oil cooler on my VX engine in my Montecarlo is located in a place where it is difficult to duct cool air. I am currently using hoses with the same length as the hoses in a Beta Volumex (2 * ~900mm). For better cooling I need to move the oil cooler to a place where up to 1400 mm of hoses are required. I guess shorter is better, but how much longer than 900 mm is it safe to go?

Best regards

You could run the hoses that long no problem. Use straight swivels where you can or if 45 or 90 deg are needed use swept fittings to minimise the pressure drop.

Be sure to fill the lines and cooler etc with oil prior to cranking and start.
