21st of july was our lucky day, we have won Ceske Budejovice rally in A3 class(up to 2.0 liter) and we have been 6th overall with only few 4wd cars in front of us.

I have fitted in the rear Proflex Mcperson struts and right now i can travel much quicker, no more bumps as the suspension is now 3 way adjustable and i can fine tune it for high speed and low speed bump and rebound. This makes a lot of difference when travelling fast on a stages.

Unfortunately on the last special stage i had engine failure, probably i have a dropped valve on cylinder 4. I have not opened yet the engine but on monday I will order another engine and simply replace it, at some later stage I would like to take a look inside and maybe I will be able to make the engine with ITB fitted and use higher CR pistons. Will have to see how much it is damaged but i was able to make it to the service area in order to finish the rally. I have checked the onboard and logged data and i see no reason for dropping the valve, it happened when upshifting without overrevving the engine.

Aii... that sounds expensive. Be sure to match the compression with your cam profiles and fuel characteristics, or you will not gain anything.

Today I will order "new" used engine for the car so i do not care too much about tuning that new one, if it goes as good as the old one then it is fine, it has the power output at the level of VW Golf 3 Kitcar so enough for me.
I will probably take care of the broken engine to try to get a bit more power out of it but i think it will be very difficult as it had already 246HP out of 2.0 liter engine.
Here is another movie from that rally

I have opened the engine with broken valve and it is total disaster, everything is actually damaged. pistons are all damaged and one is completely smashed, the head looks exactly like the pistons so it will also be no more use of it. I have installed new engine and it goes like the previous one. Will have to check it on the dyno just to make sure all is fine.
Last saturday i have competed in a rally where i have unfortunately had some problems with axles as I have broken one of them and had to finish last stage with only one wheel driven so I got big loss of time on the stage. I also had to stop on the stage to check what happened as i got huge vibrations that I thought it was loose wheel but later on the service area it came that bolts from the prop shaft got loose.

Anyway I have finished 5th in class and 17th in overall classification, not happy about that but at least i have finished the rally.

This is Svetla Rally, we ended 3rd in class and 11th overall but at the end of the season I am 2nd in class so not that bad as for the first full season driven with my Fiat.
