Sump mod for my Fiat X 1/9 2,0 16V

Hi my simple mod. for my X 1/9 . To little oil volum i suppose 3,8 liter in the sump berore it flows over the tray. Have to hold an eye on oil temp!

My 1800 Fiat TC big-wing sumps are not much more than 3.8 liters - work OK provided you keep the oil temp down as you say.

Is this a hidden challenge? The belt arrangement on that engine in your picture "GC big-wing sump on this 170bhp 1800 TC on 44 IDF" will never work.

It works if you fit the crank front pulley..

in that case a toothed belt drive.

I agree, the setup will work so long as the custom crank pulley is designed and built to have a proper flange at the back, for guiding the cam belt. As stated elsewhere on this site, you need a flange on both sides of the cam belt. For that matter, the same is a requirement for any toothed belt system, one flange on each side of the belt somewhere in the array of pulleys. For very long belt / pulley arrangements you may need several guiding pulleys. Take a Subaru boxer engine for example.
