Hi Guy.

Only 94 tooth 3/8" traditional trapezoidal tooth belt from Dayco is 94059, but it's only 19 mm wide.

Dayco has these belts available in 25 mm width and specified tooth count:

94402 / 95 tooth
94323 / 94 tooth

But both have never CVC tooth, which has same 3/8" pitch but the tooth is higher and rounded, so i suppose these wont fit.

Only 25 mm wide belt with traditional profile is 94072, which has unfortunately 97 tooths.

Hope these help.

Guy,
Do automotive tooth forms have a special pressure angle? I am digging through my industrial automation catalogs and they cross the 1 or so inch and 94-95 and trap. tooth mark many different ways.
I use these in many servo systems so they last well.

thanks for the helpful replies.

Automotive (I need 3/8" trapezoidal) has a different pitch circle giving higher torque transmission. Trapezoidal is the rectangular toothform.

Hi Guy, yes I do understand the trapezoidal (trap) tooth form and yes these are all trap. rectangular tooth forms. My inquiry was to the angular side (load face angle) of the trap. and height and symmetry of the pitch. What you are requiring is available in grades that would exceed the cam belt and supercharger requirements.

Hi Guy,
Found them in a calalog in my book case in my office. When I get a chance I'll call and make sure they are availible. You are welcome to order them direct as this is only a hobby for me but a business for you. Margins are thin I could only assume.

I went on a wild goose chase for a Dayco automotive pitch belt a couple of years ago. I located and bought 5 belts and found out after getting the belts that the Dayco site had a error on it. The belts I received were 1/2 inch pitch not 3/8 and were designed for a Chevy Vega. I will see if I still have the bad info. I could not return the belts so I trashed them. It sounds like the same belt sorry to say Guy.

I've given Guy the specific timing belt part numbers and my source from engineering dimensional data. They are the pitch and size he needs. Hope it works well. I am sure they will fit the size he requested.

Guy,
Unfortunately I did not save any of the wrong belts or the info on the Dayco belt listed in the catalog that turned out to be a error in the catalog / website. Two years ago I called Dayco and they confirmed it was an error in the listing. I would give them a call prior to ordering.

Guy,
I finally found the information on the Dayco, automotive timing belt that was not listed correctly in their line of automotive timing belts.
The Dayco web site for Automotive timing belts listed the 95012 belt as:

Length: 34.10"
Width: .99"
91 teeth

This would indicate a 3/8 pitch. (Actually Automotive timing belts are listed as 9.5mm in order to differentiate them from Industrial belts, they are not the same, automotive belts are thicker than industrial belts).

I special ordered a few belts and the belts I received were a 91 tooth 1/2 inch pitch belt. They were the 95012 part number but clearly not the one I was looking for. Called Dayco and they said their listing was wrong.

Thanks for the heads-up Tom

truth is Gates will make any belt I ask for - but there is always a minimum qty (usually too many to make it worthwhile, esp on a run they have not made before).
