Hi !

easy question for most of you, but how can I be sure my engine, especially head, comes from a Fiat Strada 130 TC? (head ID numbers)?

Regards,

Antonio

hi there!
antonio this has nothing to do with numbers but it will help:
the water pipe at the head it turns on the right side towards the distributor as you see it from front that goes to radiator(engines on r.w drive eg 124,131 the pipe it's located between the cam pulleys)
the car use electronic ignition so the distributor inside got only the rotor nothing else...(no contacts etc) and you have to take the coil and the electronic ignition module.
the distributor it's located on the end of the inlet cam housing.(not to the block or to the exaust cam housing)
the valves are 43.5in and 36ex (if you can see them)
factory headers 4-2-1 st.steel
oil cooler and o.c adaptors on the factory oil filter housing (ask for it if it missing it works well!)
engine numbers :
138ar2.000 130 tc
138ar1.000 125 tc (one dual carb)

hope that will help

In my experience the head casting ID number is 5992303. If anyone has seen any other head on the 2 liter 130TC engine let me know please.

Same head (36-34mm ports) is seen on the 105TC and Delta, Prisma but with smaller (36-32mm) inlet ports.

5992303 I have as Strada 130TC, yes

5936188 is Lancia Volumex with 3 extra inlet manifold mounting holes (and OE fitted with sodium cooled ex valves)

4460623 - please check your number as don't know it but 4462603 is, unless I have noted the number wrongly is a 43.5mm inlet valve head but from Fiat Strada/Ritmo 105TC 1600cc with smaller inlet ports than the 2 liter 130TC.

I am open to correction on the last number, I don't have one in my works at this time.

Hi Guy and Antonio,

Hope this helps.

Ok, well done.

I'll log this as a good number:

4460623 head from Lancia Prisma GT with 43.5/36mm valves.

If anyone can check out my the number 4462603 from the Fiat Strada 105TC 1600 TC please let me know, being number blind forever maybe I just wrote it wrong in my TC book,

Hi Antonio
Dont know if this will help any, but I have been told that 130 strada Arbath block was a stiffer block.
Dont quote me on that, but it would be interesting to know.

Not so. I won't say 'unfortunately' because the original 1973 2 litre block design was never short of stiffness anyway. The Lancia 037 Evo 2 was crossbolted and had supporting braces cast into the block there; the Lancia S4 Delta I don't know at all, never seen one.
I have never heard of a 2 liter Fiat block of any sort in any tune normally aspirated or the later 16v Integrale type breaking due to lack of stiffness in any plane.

Very sorry it took so long for me to answer. I forgot completely about this thread, guess it was late when I last posted.
I'm not sure I'll be able to help you out unfortunately. I have two 43.5/36 mm cylinder heads, one comes from a 1600 Prisma for certain, the other supposedly from a Ritmo/Strada 105TC. I know the person who sold me the Ritmo head quite well and he is very knowledgeble and honest and I see no reason why it shouldn't be a actual 105TC head, however they both have the same casting no. (first saw this the other evening). Naturally, one could be a replacement..
Anyway, the number is 5992169.
Hope this helps.
