May I introduce myself ,I am Fiat user for Bangkok Thailand.
I am know the name of GC about 15years ago from this wonderful book
that make me was satisfied.I must said thank you very much for kindness from GC for everything.

I have FIAT3cars
1. 1970 Fiat 850 sport coupe'
2. 1974 Fiat 124 Special T
3. 1985 Fiat ABARTH Volumetrico NO.12

For my first topic I will post my Fiat ABARTH Volumetrico NO.12
In Thailand the last production line for FIAT131 was Fiat ABARTH Volumetrico and assembled 12cars.
My car is NO.12 the last 2door car in Thailand and may be in the world.

Now I restoration and have some problem about supercharger belt.

There is another member (Eric Weston) who will no doubt pleased to find a Volumetrico owner at last!

Hi Neil your BC very nice and good condition
in Thailand I founded only one of BC and about30car for AC

For my 850sprot coupe is 2serie only30cae in Thaiand
and my 124 ST wait for restoration

Let's see them
my850 the color was 208 Giallo Positano (= yellow)
but now I paint code LAM.21040 Giallo 21040 from Lamborghini paint code table.
and set Cromodora CD 13 for this car

my124ST I set ABARTH Cromodora CD 30 for the time and change to be Cromodora CD 9
and set steering wheel and grill with ABARTH too.

I am sorry to report that whilst I can get belts made in your pattern (99 teeth 1" wide) I have to order 20 from Gates.

This does not look like a practical proposition I'm afraid,

May I post for spec and picture of supercharge belt,perhaps anyone could support for
1983-5 Fiat ABARTH Volumetrico supercharge belt
-99 teeth(square)
-Belt width 25MM.
-Each teeth center to center 8MM.
Teeth width 3.5MM.
-Teeth thickness 4MM.

If anyone could find this belt , inform me please.

The pertinent features (for purchase ref) are simply:

99 teeth, 3/8" automotive pitch, trapezoidal toothform.

In an attempt to fix your problem, given that I would need to order 20+ belts to supply one to you, I have a suggestion.

Can you use an old cambelt to measure the number of teeth you would need to run a direct drive from crank to blower? It will not be an exact fit of course, a tensioner will be needed. You should allow 'extra teeth' so that we can fit a tensioner.

The example below is a Beta VX which in this case uses a 93T belt (which is loose but the nearest available size) and I have fitted one of my special tensioner pulleys on a bracket bolted to the blower itself.

Alternatively - if there are others who want a 99T belt for this rather unique vehicle I would be grateful if they would get in contact and if I can get 6 orders together I shall place an order at Gates asap.

Could you count me in for a 99t belt for the Volumetrico blower, if you get enough interest. I'm in the process of purchasing one of these units, so a 99t belt might be handy.

Post-script: Just in from Gates:
Guy, we have had some issues making these belt for you and we are having to have some cleaning work done on the mould to get acceptable standard belts. This is an old mould which we brought over from our plant in Germany when it closed and these are the first belts run on it. The initial belts had contamination which made them unacceptable for shipment. We will have the mould back from engineers at the beginning of next week and will re-run your belts as soon as we are able. They will be shipped out and I will let you know they are coming through to you. Our Product Engineering Department who make the samples are aware of the urgency.
