Urgent query re Fiat X19/128 cambelt drive pulley

I'm doing a 1300 X19 engine for a client, I think it's got the wrong cambelt drive pulley on the crank nose. To the best of my recollection it should have a flange on the block side, this flangeless one seems to be a TC one. It's ages since I did a SOHC 1300.

Can anyone confirm this? Photo appreciated, and better still if I am right and anyone's got a spare please contact me at

Hi Guy

I cannot recall whether or not my old engine had a flanged bottom pulley- I seem to think not for some reason
cannot check anymore as I sold it to a chap in Wales last year who was going to take it tarmac rallying

I do not remember the bottom pulley having a flange. I have checked my Haynes manual, and there is a picture of the bottom pulley wheel and V pulley being put onto the crank. The pulley shown in the picture does not have a flange. The one you have shown appears to to resemble closely the one pictured in the Haynes manual.

I have e-mailed you a link from Matt Brannon's store in the States which has one in stock, and usefully a picture...

Hope this is of assistance. It is impossible to view one properly with the engine in situ.

Thanks Simon, James, and thanks for the mail, James and link to Bayless in the USA - you're right - no flange, which presumably means the cam pulley on that motor should have a rear flange which the listed Piper adjustable cam pulley does not so the belt is going to 'walk'.

I have posted a pic of a MkI Uno Turbo - you can see the rear flanged crank pulley and flangeless cam one.

Does anyone have the flanged pulley from the Uno available?

I'll try to find one but I think it's 3/4" wide or so, so it can't accept the 1" belt (if needed).

FWIW..

The 1300 has no flange, the pulley is the same as the late DOHC engines (late 1756 and 1995cc, 30mm crank nose)

The 1500 pulley isn't as wide and has a flange in the rear, it is also for a 30mm crank nose.

There is also an aux pulley with a rear flange, but I do not know from which engine it came from.

hello

I have the same problem on my Fiat 128 engine ...
the belt is moving and I would like to change crankshaft pulley by an other with a flange..

following your remarks, it means a Fiat Uno pulley is OK ? same teeth ?

Sorry Philippe I gave up on the flanged front pulley idea and used a GC tensioner sleeve on an Integrale type OE tensioner instead.

May be I will machine my pulley in order to adapt a steel flange ? I don't know
