Hi,happy new year!
Here is my Sylva Leader that i saved from being scrapped! A garage offered it to me as a non runner because he knew i was into Fiat TCs.
I bought it after viewing it on the back of a truck (came via me to the scrapyard). It was delivered to my home that day and i was delighted to find it was fitted with
Guy Croft engine no.146! Apparently built early 90s.1756cc.
I also discovered it was chassis number 001,built in 1984 by Sylva founder Jeremy Phillips After little work it was running and MOTd....then came the light restoration Everthing was done by myself with basic tools including respray with electric HVLP spray gun(more commonly used for wood fence treatment!) After a few runs i decided to add a pair of Weber 45s and get it set up on a rolling road. Unsure on the spec of the engine but it has 275 exhaust cam and 290 inlet with 10.5mm lift.
Facet SilverTop fuel pump
After a few hours on the rollers the final settings were as follows:
Weber 45 DCOEs
36MM Choke
135 Main
190 Air
Ignition timing 35 degrees at 4000rpm.
Final power run 119 Bhp at the wheels at 7000rpm
Fun doesn't have to cost thousands!
