Hi Guys '
I had to dig up detailed data on the OEM electronic ignition used on 131 2 liter.
Since i have already done the digging you do not have to. This has been verified through numerous mostly Fiat published and appears to be accurate( GC "BIBLE" SAYS THE SAME !) .
I have found confirmation that electronic ignitions for these engines had both block mounted and head mounted distributor !
The original equipment on this was either Magneti Marelli or Bosch :
Magneti Marelli
Fiering order : 1-3-4-2
Electronic Module : AEI 200A
( Fiat part number : 4386220 with coil)
Distrubutor : SM 800 AX (for block mounting)
SM 801 AX (for head mounting) NOTE : Fiat published 131 service manual indicates the head mounet unit was installed on Air Conditioned units )
(Fiat part number: 4430224 )
static advance: 10 deg
automatic centrifugal advance: 24deg +/- 2 deg.
distance between 4 pole rotor and stator pole: 0.3 - 0.4 mm
Ignition coil : BAE 207 A
(Fiat part number 9938064)
Ohmic resistance of primary winding at 20deg C: 0.75 - 0.81 ohm
Ohmic resistrance of secondary winding ad 20 deg C: 9500-11500 ohm
Resistor ( none)
Bosch
Fiering order : 1-3-4-2
Electronic Module : 0.227.100.014
Distrubitor : 0.237.001.002
static advance: 10 deg
Automatic centrigugal advance 24deg +/- 2 deg
Ignition coil : 0.221.122.012
Ohmic resistance of primary winding at 20deg C: 1.2 - 1.6 ohm
Ohmic resistrance of secondary winding ad 20 deg C. : 6 000-10 000 ohm
Resistor : 0.227.900.002
resistance : 0.9 +/- 0.05 ohm

Re: Electronic ignition OEM data ( 131 2.0 liter) CORRECTED
Interesting stuff. My 2.0-litre 131 engine has a Lucas 2CE 'Constant Energy Ignition Unit', made in the UK. It appears to have the same basic connections as the Magnetti Morelli AEI 200A
unit shown in the Fiat 131 Haynes manual, however, it also has a mysterious extra 3-pin plug extending out on a pair of white wires with grey tracers, and a white central wire. I have no idea what these are supposed to connect to - does anyone know?
Regards,
Maurice.

You can mix and match the components to some degree as well - I run a Bosch electronic distributor from a 132/argenta two litre, with the ignition module and coil from a volumex on my 124CC (1756cc). Works much better than the points ever did.
