Hi

I have a quastion.

I want to put to Fiat Bravo 1,6 16V engine block, crank, rods and pistons from tipo 1,6 SOHC.
Bore and stroke are the same diameter 86,4x67,4 mm.

Will it work?? I want to do 8,5:1 CR.

thanks

Tipo has dished pistons and bravo/brava 16v has flat top pistons (0.25mm dome to be exact). The compression height of tipo pistons is about 0.9mm smaller so you will get lower compression but you will probably have to recut the valve pockets.

why dont you just replace the engine with a four cylinder 2ltr turbo Fiat coupe engine, its not alot of work to fit, or you could go the five cylinder route more work to fit and has no more power potential but its a lovely sounding engine, i helped a good friend of mine with this conversion, thats now over 400bhp and very impresive

We have found the way for 1,6 16V turbo witout changing pistons.
We will insert crank from 1,3T engine to 1,6 16V.
It will be 1,5 16V turbo after this change. CR will be about 8,3. Everything else fit no problem.
Fly whell will fit 100% becouse it is one of the best way for stronger clutch in 1,3T. (190 mm to 200 mm)

What You are thinking about??

I think he meant he can't make the engine fit w/o cutting the OEM oil pump strainer...

This Bravo engine is in Uno, to change it for 2.0 16 it is necessary to cut the longitudinal elements of the chassis (I don't know the exact name of it....)

I just want to remark, that in considering what this website is about, I am no great fan of mix and match of parts between different engines. Borrowing cams and valves is one thing, but changin major components with all the dimensional differences, not easy and rarely worth the trouble. Better to get the right core engine (as suggested by one member) to start with and modify that.

If there is a member who has done this swap in a professional way and had useful results let's all hear about it with photos and 'how to'. Otherwise it's going to degenerate into guesswork and I shall delete the thread.

OK. We will do photos from buildin this engine.

I can only say that dimensions of crank from 1,3 is the same like 1,6 16V. We have checked it.

On Saturday 1,6 16V engine from BRAVO 182.A4 have started with no problems with 1,3 crank from Uno Turbo and it's running fine.
In this weekend we will putt home made exhaust mainfold and turbocharger from Subaru Forestet 2.0T TF035.

Hello!

Is this conversion going to be installed on a Uno Turbo?

This engine is on Uno. Two years ago my friend installed 1,6 16V engine in Uno 899 cm3.
Now we installed turbo to this engine. Two days ago we have started engen with turbocharger.
Boost is now 0,4 bar but it wil be 0,7 bar. turbocharger is from Subaru Forester TF035MH and it starts at 2000 rpm.

Congratulations! I had never seen that engine swap on a Uno Turbo! Will you dyno it, and post the results here?

Oh, and another thing, although offtopic: do you know if the Bravo head is compatible with a Lancia dedra 1.6 block?

Hi.

We have not been on dyno yet but we supose that at 1 bar is over 200HP. BMW E65 745i have no chance

Now we installed Megasquirt I v3. After winter we will go on dyno for tune.
