124 gearbox/Argenta engine

Hi
I have a problem with getting the gearbox from an 124 cc (124A100) to fit to an Argenta engine (132DB2AO).The gearbox shaft is to long 3-4 mm. When I measured the gearbox to the old regata engine it was a distance between the gearbox shaft and the "bottom" of 5 mm. (The bearing have the same diameter 15mm of both the regata and the argenta engine). So I guess i will only have to cut the shaft, but should I take 3-4 mm or 8-9 mm away so I have the same distance as before (regata engine) or perhaps I should take some in between?

Ulf,

I have deleted your photo which was massively too big, please read the guidance on photo size at:

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=586

edit it and post it up again in a manageable size, I will then try and answer - assuming no-one does before me,

If I read you right you looked at the shaft position of the 124cc (1800cc gearbox) on the Regata engine, but that is a transverse unit with a shallower bore in the end of the crankshaft.

The 1800cc 124 gearbox should fit the 2 liter Argenta without any mods and vice-versa, I did the opposite with my own 124 1800 engine ie: fitted a 131 2 liter gearbox to it - same box the Argenta has.

I may have misunderstood, but I hope this is a start anyhow,
