bore and pistons on 132 engine

Post by achy »

Dear Guy
One tricky (or maybe not) question.
My (brand new) 132 block nas stamped underside C,C,B,D for the 1,2,3,4 bores.
I have found pistons sets of A,C,E
What set would be proper for my block and what I need to do?

Best Regards

Class A pistons will fit any of those, have a read of:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=254

which explains (I hope) what the size classes mean. Class A in a non-class A bore will simply have a bit more piston to bore clearance (which doesn't matter too much with forged pistons - I assume you mean forged..) but you might care to check the ring gaps. One trick is to take 0.4mm oversize rings and gap them down if, say, the class A rings showed a bit too much end gap in the bigger bores.

I have attached a GC 'How to' data sheet on fitting forged pistons also.

Hope that helps,

G
