oil filter choice for competition engines

Guy,
Do you concur with A G Bell in that race engines should not have fitted oil filters with bypass valves ?
Also linked to the remote oil filters you advise, do you specify larger than OE size filters when this conversion is performed ? Based on larger filtration surface area, and/or increased flow potential before the bypass valve opens.
My recent research is to answer my personal underlying concern that road cars have 'might' have filters optimised for low/medium revs, whereas compeitition engines spend most of their life at medium to high revs, and 'might' be under filtered whilst fitted with OE filters.
As an aside Mann & Hummel are the only filters I've found to offer filters without bypass valves.
thanks in advance
Sean
