IDF Manifold
A while ago. A long while actually someone was selling a manifold. And on that topic I mentioned a manifold that I have at home. I finally found a picture of this (as promised). Better late then never I guess. The topic has been long since deleted I suppose.
In any case I have had this manifold for a few years now. It was sold to me a few years back as an abarth manifold. If it is or not I don't know. In any case it is a slightly angled for a tilted engine.
Can anyone identify or confirm?

Re: IDF Manifold
It's not for a tilted engine Chris, none of the tilted engines use IDFs. It's for IDFs for a RWD Fiat TC.
It will have either 'Abarth' or 'Alquati' cast on it or have a 4 number code from UK's Mangoletsi. If not marked could be one from a maker in the USA, dunno.
If it doesn't have any of those markings, there is no knowing who made it.

Re: IDF Manifold
Thanks for the correction Guy.
The manifold has no markings as far as I remember. So I guess I will never know the maker as you say. It came from a guy in Swizerland. I just remember that when I offered this up to the engine in my 2.0 litre spider it did not seem to sit 100% horizontal.
What makes you say it is for a RHD Fiat rather then a LHD actually?

Re: IDF Manifold
Chris, hi
re-read! RWD not RHD!
FWIW. Whether it will fit RHD or LHD Fiat TC engines depends on whether it a) clears the brake servo and b) fould sthe distributor.
There were offset versions for b) above.

Hi Guy,
Sorry I should have read more carefully. Thanks again.
That settles it, I think I need glasses...
Best Regards

Re: IDF Manifold
Hi Guy,
Looks like you are right. The origin is probably US.
I think I may have possibly found the origin of my manifold by some quick surfing.
It is not certain of course but it certainly does look very similar indeed.
The following picture is a manifold being offered for sale (as 124 Downdraft IDF manifold) in US by a company called PBS engineering INC of California.

Re: IDF Manifold
And as PBS are obviously dealers of PIERCE MANIFOLDS, that might lead to the manufacturer. Then again, PIERCE is a dealer of Mangoletsi, but since GC says Mangoletsis have some digits on them, it might be a PIERCE casting as well. FWIW...
BTW, Guy, did you know Mangoletsi is Greek?
Best regards,
G.F.
