Here are the pics of our CS2 spider in UK that is currenly "offroad". It is sporting a Guy Croft inlet manifold and twin 40's that come from 1 1,3 205 Rallye. These are still to be fired up since ther is still loads to do on a tight budget

Also some pictures of my daily driver. This is a rare seen in uk peugeot
205 rallye with a TU24 1294cc engine.
Mine is lightly tuned with a 280 degree cam, DIY porting of the head and inlet, branched manifold.

Question is how do you tune a car that is already tuned so much??

Well mine develops about 115bhp at 6800rpm and I commute in traffic with it. Not bad for a 1294cc 8V engine. (To compare if it was a 20.l engine it would have 178bhp!!! )

Oh and it has a dry weight of 675kgs. Wet it is nearly 200kg's lighter then a 205 GTI. G T What?

hi Chris,

great to see you here especially since you own one of my favourite cars, a Fiat Spider and one of my favourite engines - a 205 Rallye!

How much more can your tune that motor? Well, for road use I doubt if it needs more, but for competition consider this - 1600 Peugeot 8v GC head Piper 320 cam, standard valve sizes, 11/1 CR 174bhp, work out the ratio 1400/1600 x that .... should give you a clue..when we were doing NHRA (National Hot Rod), now NHRPA ('promoter'added) it took us 4 months of intensive development to catch the Mass 2 liter Peugeot 8v.

You're absolutely right about the 205 engine, that is a top-class engine and one I'm very impressed with. I'm deep into a porting job on a Peugeot 316 16v so a bit pushed for time, but we'll speak again I have no doubt.
