Beta VX supercharged , Carb upgrade, Accelerator pump cam

Post by keithvx »

Hello Guy

i have made a short path manifold for weber DCNF 44 carberator upgrade. It is now mounted and operational . ( Yet to be tuned ).

I note that the accelerator pump cam profile is quite different from the origional DCA 5 / 250 36 weber carb.

Question: Disregarding all other tunable componants , ie pump jets .
Would you retain the cam that came with the DCNF 44 . Or
would you transfer the DCA 5 cam on to the DCNF 44.

Note : At this stage I have no information on what vehicle the
DCNF 44 came from

Nicely executed manifold Keith - sure gets my seal of approval!

I'd like to hear about your plans for filtration and ducting etc. My guidance available as ever.

Jetting I will come back to, bit tied up at present.

Induction for DCNF

Post by keithvx »

Yes induction is a challange. When running the standard carb and manifold i took the normal cold air feed from over the radiator and feed it to custom air box via ducting . Duct fed to inside of k&n filter and airbox took air from outside of filter to carb top . Box designed to sit on carb but bulk of filter housing sat to the side and fed from under box.

However this time i may feed from behind head light. iIhave moved radiator sideways and have moved power bump in bonnet to over the super charger. i will see how much height i can get before making a decision.

regards keith

ps . Gave up waiting for 32 chokes so made my own last night from a set of dellorto 32 chokes. Was not as hard as i thought. Found out in the process that although carb has 44 stamped on it , it is actually a 42 . ?
