Thats it bearing bought and fitted, a perfect fit.
Thanks for the bearing reference Leifa.
I bought my bearing through 'Midland Bearings' however with the reference number im sure any supplier could get you one.
I applied a little loctite bearing sealer before knocking the bearing home with a rubber malet and a straight edge.
So unless i have any further problems the job should be finnished so to sumarise how to fit a 131 gearbox to a Fiat Strada abarth engine:
1) remove 1.75mm from the input shaft (after further measurements i discovered that up to 12mm could be removed still leaving suficient shaft to be carried in the bearing).
2) remove central bush from the flywheel and replace with bearing 'SKF 63002-2RS1.
As for the broken inlet manifold mentioned in the previous postings, well i managed to get a 'Guy Croft' one to replace it (Bought off e bay) so no excuses now, engine and box to go back in and 45's to fit.
