Adjustable Timing Pulley for a Fiat Coupe 20VT

Post by TipoBoy »

Hello,

I'm having my Fiat Coupe 20VT engine professionally rebuilt. The garage carrying out the work would like to fit an adjustable exhaust camshaft pulley. The inlet pulley is already adjustable. The standard exhaust pulley has 50 teeth so it can only be adjusted in roughly 7 degree steps. They would like to time the engine as near as perfect as possible.

I've searched around and can't find any after market pulleys for this engine. One company could make me one by using the original outer part and machining a new adjustable hub section. Unfortunately they couldn't do it within the time scale I'm wanting, roughly a month, and were not really interested in a one off.

Guy, I see you sell some of your own for the 16V engines. The 20V is different because the exhaust pulley has a metal wall with a window in it for a sensor to tell the ECU which phase the engine is in. Would you be interested in making a pulley for the 20VT engine or know anyone who would be? I can supply an original.

Thanks

John
