Engine Number 146 - 1800TC

Post by matt36 »

Hello Guy

You may recall i bought a Sylva Leader fitted with one of your engines(No.146 1800tc)
I am currently giving it a light overhaul and have some numbers you may be able to help with.
The ends of both cams are stamped 148,the cam carriers have 16 stamped inside them and the pistons have 84 36 on them.
Do any of these numbers mean anything to you? I can add photos if you prefer.

Thanks Matt

P.S.Looking forward to your new book!

Hi Matt,

the cams Alquati steel billet profile 148: 50/90 90/50, 10.9mm lift

16 is the running clearance of the cams (0.016")

the piston marking is the skirt size and means they are sized for 84.40mm bores.

Hope that helps,

G
