Q: KMS Ignition for Race Engine

Post by Abarthnorway - Remi L »

Hi All!

I am considering buying a complete KMS electronic ignition system for a Fiat race engine.

As I have no experience at all regarding non stock ignition, I would be very happy to hear from anyone with actual experience of using KMS ignition.

Best regards

Hi Remy,

I've some experience with the KMS MD35 which is a ECU for fuel & ignition. Compared to some other unit's like Walbro or MBE the software is better structured. It's the maxim of the KMS guys to keep it as simple as possible, altough the ECU has all necessary features.
If you need help in programming just call KMS and ask for Johan van Grotel. He is a very kind person and has a huge experience of mapping engines.
I've visited Johan last year and he showed me the complete workshop, gave me hints and invested a lot of his time just to please me. (I was there at 10am and left at 5pm)

Pricing of the unit's is fair but no bargain. But the customer relation is excellent!

Kind regards
Christoph
