Rolling road question Integrale

Post by Guy Croft »

Can the Integrale (which is 4WD of course) be rolling road tested as a 2WD by disconnecting 'something or other' at the gearbox end? Serious question and please excuse my ignorance!

I ask because I have a client in Australia who might struggle to find a 4WD rolling road to do calibration.

Thanks,

Hi Guy,

Regarding your question: by no means should an Integrale be tested with one of the axes disconnected. This will put a tremendous load on the center diff, which will overheat and lock... permanently... Unfortunately, I we seen it. It is really necessary to have all four wheels spinning with approximately the same speed.

To your customer I would suggest to look for an engine dyno, if AWD one is not available.

Hope that helps,
Nik
