You may have torsional vibration problems with this setup.

Very unwise to use a universal joint at the drive end.

Time to get back to work.
Company Mg Motorsport made a complete exhaust system. I am glad that, and
they just took care of the construction of the exhaust system.

Wow, beautiful exhaust. That's a tight fit! Is the header 4-1 or 4-2-1?

Thank you very much.
Very little space. It is 4-1.

Well done!

This is a careful & thoughtful job by your supplier Marek, done as close as possible to GC design regime. Not easy no. I suggested 4-1. A 4-2-1 manifold to a modern design (ie: optimal, to my spec) is almost impossible in the 124 ...

I like the care they have taken with the flexible joint and the nice suspension of the rear silencer. I can see they have done some nice cosmetic work too, polishing to make it look nice.

The pipe bends look good too, I would say they are all to GC spec ie: bend chord radius = 2 x pipe inner diameter.

A manifold like this generates a huge amount of heat in the engine bay, it can destroy your distributor! I would strongly advise you examine some thermal coating like the Zircotec we use here.

Tuning the 124 Coupe and Spider explores the LIMITS of what is possible in the restricted architecture of the engine bay. No room for anything!

Hi Marek,

I'd like to echo GC's comments, a beautifully executed exhaust that looks most professional. But please note, I had big problems with high under-bonnet temperatures but Zircotec coating really helped. It's not cheap but worth the investment for such a good system.

Several people advise me not to use exhaust wrap. The main reasons seem to be that wraps hold moisture and they create too much thermal boundary between the flange by the exhaust ports and the start of the downpipes.

You must be very pleased with the result.

Regards, PG

I am very curious about thermal barrier that should ensure this coating,if it will works as well as it looks I am confident about results dear Marek.

Last week I started the engine. Therefore I was adjusting the carburetor first time I had some issues and trouble with lack of combustion on the first cylinder. Herein I would like to thank Guy for his support. During the interview Guy quickly realized what's the matter and a few short and concise guidance from Guy was enough to run the engine properly.
PS. Guy, alluding to my preliminary actions with start of 'your's' engine, remember that you aren't first on the list to catch me.
