I am busy lately, so the works are going slowly. But time spend on build is very relaxing!

Marek,

Let us set something straight : what car is this ?

Is this a Fiat, a Pininfarina, Azurra or Spidereuropa?

We all know the importance if my question is secondary, at best as the cars were almost identical but but just for the record.

Here is the most reliable production data I could come up with.
DS data .jpg

Your car as you say is 1983. AI assume this is a year of production . Is the model year the same ?

It is important because in 1983 Pininfarina produced the DS1 for the US market in both model versions "83 and '84.
(The DS1model '84 production was launched in December 1983).

So by production date of 1983 ( January to December 1983 we can only say it was either a 1983 produced for Europe or US or a 1984 model produced for US. This does not help us very much in understanding what car you have.

Let us look further?

What badges you had on the car body?

Azurra like this:

or Farina , like this ?

What badge did you have n the glove compartment box :

Was it like this ?

Pending some clarifications form you let me complicate the matter further , Pininfarina Spider as named "Azurra" in the US and Canada , and Spidereuropa in Europe , however in 1983 and 1984 Canada cars cars were named Pininfarina Spidereuropa.

On my first look your car is definitely not a Fiat but "Pininfarina". If looks like an Azurra to me as the European cars did not have the marker lights on the fenders. However, the Canadian cars in 1983 might have had the marker, as the safety regulations I believe were common for both markets.

As seen on the pictures of original engine the emission control were present. It was purchased from the US. The chances is is a Canadian market import is slim to none. And the only chance it is a Spidereuropa is that the car is from the Canadaian market.

Not that it matters at all , but just for the record , I think this is a 1983 Pinifarina Azurra Spider.

Did you know that the Azurra name come from an Italian sailing boat entered in the 1983 America's Cup That is why the sail logo on the badges.

With best wishes to complete this project and start a new one

This will be very good, powerful and driveable engine. Many thanks for Your reply, especially about inlet ports.

BTW, what is expected bhp/torque for this setup of 2L TC engine ?

Dear Piotrek,
My initial idea was to have the engine rebuilt by GCRE and power 130 bhp.
The conditions that I had to meet were effective brakes and efficient cooling system.

Marek, hi

I think yours will be about 165bhp and 148 lbf ft +

I do not do one-make engines. I try to develop the best I can with client budget, in fact I believe this is the best way operate.

However - of course - there are some specs I have never dyno-tested.

But nobody has ever been disappointed with the results. Piotr's engine on 45 DCOE will be about 174 bhp with about 150lbf ft

don't be disappointed!!

You won't be when you press the LOUD pedal....
