Hello everybody

I'm new on here today and very keen to get started building my 1500cc race car from a standard road car.

If anyone can help me with their experience and/or avoidable pitfalls then that would be very much appreciated.

The car is to be used in our local Scottish Motor Racing Championship for pre 1980 'Classic Saloons and Sports Cars"

Basic guide lines for 'class A' are "period modifications" limited to .....

Up to 1500cc ( but +60 thou over ore is permitted)
Standard stroke
Transmission must appear to be visually standard
Carburation is free
Oil system is free
Suspension is free (although no remote reservoirs )
Brakes free
Wheels limited to 7" max width
Bodywork to remain standard (ish) so 'Protitipo' body kit should be plausible ?!!
Must be to a MOT test standard although does not require a MOT.

So fairly relaxed, or so I hope ?

Any ideas/ pointers would be greatly appreciated. The car is to be a 100% race focused car and not a compromised road car as i have had to endure ... until now.

I will post some pictures when i I have something interesting to show.

Many thanks in advance

AllyB

Sounds like a good fun project.
I was also building my project for the Scottish Classics rules. Where are you located roughly in Scotland?
Good luck with the build, i hope we are going to see plenty of photos and technical work.

Will....

Will do will but I'm going to try to gather as much information and experience from this forum and try my best !

Will post pictures when there is something to show and hopefully not 'drag' the full build out.

I'm just outside Perth so if your passing by 'the kettle will be on' !

What were / are you planning to build ?
