GCRE Lancia Integrale 16v Evo 1 tuning project

Been working quietly on a tuning project for this car, in association with my consultant and close friend Andrew Wright PhD.

The project is quite tightly constrained in tuning terms, mainly by wish to retain the standard bottom-end and cast ex manifold - meaning 300bhp or so its the realistic target - but is otherwise a full-on top-end conversion with:

1. GC prepped/built head
2. Steel billet mild cams
3. Standard bottom-end....
4. RP Labs management system
5. Standard inlet and exhaust manifolding

None of that however is by way of saying that the management system could not cope with a lot more power. Andy - with real-time RP help (and I mean real-time, eg: AW driving - with laptop on passenger seat - and Nik remotely controlling the systems on the laptop and tuning the engine via Skype..) is handling the installation and electronics side. I am sure he will check in and describe how fascinating it is to interface with engine management wizard Nik Radenkovic (a member here)..

Accurate monitoring via top-grade instrumentation is vital.

The car (which is in itself expertly dressed by AW himself) will be going on an RP Labs approved 4WD rolling road soon..

I've just got back from Blackpool having had the car mapped at Motorsports Developments. They are a first rate organisation who have done an excellent job. The car is a delight to drive, the standard turbo now begins to spool up at just over 2000rpm, gives a great throttle response, excellent off-boost running and a good 20% increase in torque . I have posted a short video on You-tube if anyone is interested in seeing the dyne -cell and the power/torque graph.

I just love your car Andrew, I am very envious! It is just as stunning in the 'flesh' too, beautifully prepared.

Thank you. I have spent quite a lot of time ( not to mention money) getting the car the way I want it (well, more or less) I do very much enjoy both owning and driving it .
