Car is looking much better and in next few days will be down on its wheels for fitting trials, ride height check with no weight.

Picture update

Can't believe how low she is, but ride height may have to go up or i need to move some suspension mounting points further up as the front is moving awkwardly. Dialling out the bump steer is going to be fun!

Really need to get weigh tin here now to see how she will sit and then start making suspension mounting measurements for different models.

Still need to get hold of a big rad, but that will come.

I also receive car trailer yesterday on long term load which is an old homebuilt transporter.
But i have surgery up and coming this week and now i don't think i will be able to make the show i have been slogging out for! So there may be an update tomorrow, but after that i will be taking time off to recover from my surgery. Could be 6 weeks being bored! :(

Done alot of fettling cutting welding today to tidy up headlamp areas. Still need a little more work but making slightly more progress. Don't think I going to touch her for a while but we will see.
Bonnet leading edge cut back and reinforced. Needs a bit more work and grinding back but coming along.

Finally on it's wheels Will, super milestone! Pity you don't make it to the show but your hard work will not be wasted. Keep it up and good luck with the surgery and recovery.

Just checking in. Been a while!
Not done anything on the Capri due to a slow recovery from surgery and now i am finally feeling right the weather has turned, which means i think we have missed the opportunity to finish the paint this year :(
Anyway, not forgotten and it means i now have time to save for lots of goodies for next year and Christmas presents haha

It seems our work firewall now blocks this site, so i can only log in at home!

Fee weekends my young cousins came to visit which gave us perfect excuse to get the old girl out the garage and do some work.
We managed to get all other panels(except doors) primered up.in etch after giving panels good clean up to bare metal. I had a shot at spraying and I am absolutely amazingly cheap at that haha. Practise makes perfect but I reckon I would run out of paint before it looks good and in have 25 litres if the stuff!!!!
Glad I got my dad on hand to sort that out.

As for building the car. Well we are going to run a T5 box, but I want to run something beafy and pretty bullet proof and strong. I would love to run a 302 v8 but otherwise I am on the lookout for an Essex v6. If we go v6 it will probably be 4 speed. It will however have to get some serious work so watch this space. The Pinto 2.0 is moving to my shed at my house to get stripped checked and cleaned up before a simple(I hope) rebuild as it will as i always said be used to shake the car down. Tied up to a 4 speed box and running a 1.6 atlas axle.

Big expensive things are gonna have to wait as house changes are higher priority now. At least the old girl not forgotten.

So a Conservatory is being built at home to give the family more space but the Capri money is now a distance dream. However i do not give up and i have spoken to someone about engines and gearboxes and i am still pushing the V8 route as i have always wanted a V8 and why not put it in this!!! haha

So a 302ci block & heads will be arriving somepoint soon so i can start the idea of making it fit properly. So now just need to find a good T5 or at least an empty shell of a t5 mustang box so i can mock up at the same time.

It might not be sensible and if not i will pull the 302 & just go back to Ford Essex V6, but i really don't want to go that route as the Essex needs alot of work to make some power. The 302 makes it straight out of the box and is hugely tuneable with a vast inventory of parts. Important for me is it is alot more viable due to expense. I cannot justify huge money into a car i will use rarely with a fast growing young family(never thought i would say that, i become boring in my old age!!!!)

Still going to need alot of engineering though, so i will keep you informed how it goes.
