Hi Tommi!

Very good to hear Your results - I really like the trumpets! Dellortos are the best carbs in my opinion.

62 is a big idle for a 1600 but what works works:-)

Best regards

Remi

Nice socks also Tommi.

3 layer foam soaked in filter oil no?

Do you know what kind of AFR you're getting a idle with the 62's?

Have you tried a colourtune? I'm trying to source a used one. Keeping an eye out.

I have DRLA's 40 with 32 chokes but on a flat 4 boxer.
Getting some hesitation on hard throttle acceleration, small flat spot.

Not sure if to increase the pump jet size or main jet size.
I have some spare larger pump jets. Will give those a try first. Have some spare mains I can get enlarged if necessary.

Great thanks Tommi.

What's your trick to listen by ear?

My boxer also idles nicely around 13.1:1 BUT now I don't know as my control module for my WB bosch is not working properly!! cry.

I have idle jets 53 at the moment and 142 mains, 33 pumps. pumps need to be a little bigger though.
I appreciate good engine behavior, because most of the time in the street you are accelerating lightly and keeping light throttle.
In our city light throttle is sometimes not an option as Uruguayan traffic is like Italy. If you don't drive aggressively you get literally pushed off the road!

So I need my pump jet set up and progression working very well under hard throttle.

If you told me that car in your last movie was a rolling road tuned megasquirt setup with throttle bodies, I'd have believed you. Very nice result, lovely distinguished roar. If you ever get to the rolling road, I'd love to see the graph on this.

Thanks.

This is the general procedure I use also.

I thought listening by ear you meant with a tube maybe, down the trumpets to hear the different note of vacuums.

Hi Tommi!

This airfilter box is well known to me......You might find that You`ll need to grind off a little of the edges of Your outer Rampipes to clear the box sidewalls.

For info: on the carb back plate in Your picture a piece is missing in the bottom middle.....it often breaks off with rough use. The missing "piece" had a hole in it for fixing a stabilizor bar that connected it to the block. Rubber bushes in both ends of the bar.

Might have a complete backplat if needed as well as a std filter element. PM me if You need.

Anyways: Original solution - and a good solid one as well - love it!!

I am watching Your projects with great interest!

Best regards

Remi

Very nice results, congratulations. The way the car picked up, sounded and accelerated in the movie was already a good indication that you did a proper job, but this is irrefutable proof. The numbers are great, especially for a road car and the torque range looks like you have a fun car that's easy to drive without having to be a gearchange-jockey.

Don't give all the credit to the cam shaft guys. You've done quite a lot of work yourself setting it up just right.
