Yugo 1600 16v build up

Post by Gumetina »

Respect to all the tuners. I am RAle from Serbia, and I am building a small car, with some lack of knowladge. I hope you will find it interesting and help me as well... :)

Some specs:

car weights about 780kg FWD
engine is Lancia Delta 1996. 1.6 16v 90hp
bore x stroke: 86.4 x 67.4
ecu is stock marelli iaw 1af.18 (semi mappable)
converted to LPG with sequential injection system (fully mappable)
very weak Yugo's 5 speed gearbox with ratios:
1. gear 4.091 : 1
2. gear 2.235 : 1
3. gear 1.469 : 1
4. gear 1.043 : 1
5. gear 0.863 : 1
Final drive: 3.714 : 1 (64/17)

Target is to run 15 sec. on 402m with fully equiped car. With help of Nitrous Oxide

This is the car:

And this is the engine beeing transplanted to the car:

My considerations:

1. 4 throttle intake
2. rised compression ratio
3. Custom made 4-2-1 exhaust header
4. Lightened flywheel
5. Nitrous oxide combined wet system LPG + gasoline
6. Oil jets for piston cooling
7. Oil cooler
8. ECU remap
9. Saab Direct Ignition static discharge system (fully mappable)

First I would like to know what are the phisical limitations of the block and the head on this engine?

Then I would like to elaborate one by one question. Let's start with the first one.

4 throttle

My idea was to use lower half of the intake manifold and to attach polyamide adapter plate for the four 40mm throttle bodies. Distance between throttle and the valve vould be around 33cm. Ports would stay stock.

Is this a good configuration ?

Regards,

RAle
