Identifying a Lancia engine

Post by mack124 »

Hi everyone,

I need help identifying a Lancia TC engine. I've been told it came out of a Beta Coupe and that's all. The engine number starts with 132 G3 000. Can anyone shed some light as to what year and possibly what the power and torque figures are? (assuming it's un-touched)

Also I'm thinking of putting it in a 124 CC, so there shouldn't be any major hurdles fitting it in, should there?

Thanks for your help

Regards
Gill

The Lancia Motor Club has a good archive of outputs at:

I am not going to guess at the engine configuration, but you're not going to find anything out of the ordinary; G3 is I think is an export code (C3 is used on some 131 models for the USA) there is something you can do very readily and that is measure the stroke down the plug hole.

90mm 2 liter
79.2mm 1756 (1800)
71.5mm 1600 (1585)

Mack, in Australia if it's an early model Beta it will be 1800, they weren't around long here, other than that they're an emission controlled 2l with less output. Also the Betas engines sit in the bay as a slant motor and I believe the camboxes have a different drain layout for the slant - possibly something to check out ?
