Exhaust Manifold (Header)

Post by snodge »

Hi,

a properly designed exhaust manifold (header) is also high on the wish list. It looks like there are a lot more options available in the US than in Europe. The engine bay will be refitted as standard on the whole but a remote oil filter will be installed. Good flow and an easy fit is what I am looking for.

I have looked at Guy Moerenhout's (Belgian) website and he lists parts that appear suitable; has anyone fitted one?

Can any US based members help out here?

Guy, I recall that we have spoke about this a few times in the past.

Kind regards

David

Hi David,

Most aftermarket manifolds look quite like the tubular 4-2-1 item that Abarth fitted to the 124. The headers on that are 4-2 and the downpipe does the 2-1 bit. I think you wouldn't go too far wrong with one of those. I've even seen some NOS items kicking about that would go nicely with your Colotti LSD :-)
Guy could help out with some more modern insights on header lengths and diameters. It's been discussed here several times before.

regards
Tom

Well now, that aftermarket manifold looks quite like the tubular 4-2-1 item that Abarth fitted to the 124. The headers on it are 4-2 and the downpipe does the 2-1 bit. I think you wouldn't go too far wrong with one of those...

Thanks Guy!

Tom/Guy

many thanks for replying.

I am talking to someone from Holland (abarth-exhausts.com) regarding sourcing an exhaust system. I don't know if he can supply a manifold.

The autoricambi unit looks good. Guy, do you know if these are US made or an import from Europe?

Thanks

David

Sorry for the late reply. That header is made in Italy.
