Bearings & Release Arm

Post by TC21 »

Does anyone know what

1.Input shaft to flywheel bearing,
2.Release bearing &
3.Release arm

I should use for a Ford Type 9 mated to a Twin Cam

Thanks if you can help me, best wishes if you cannot.

I don't know about the arm and rel brg but the input shaft support bearing bearing needs;

1. OD as per crankshaft bore
2. ID as gearbox input shaft

Bearings are all 'nominal' sizes eg 32mm OD 15mm ID. One rarely encounters fractional sizes so if you measure the shaft and it looks like, say, 16mm - it will accept a 16mm ID bearing.

The shaft must not contact the bottom of the bore in the crank and you must allow for crank end float so give it a generous clearance. The spline region must not bear against the bearing.

I am sorry I cannot answer more directly, you will need to take some careful measurements set off against the end of the block (which is the same as the face of the bellhousing) like shown here.
