Thank you Guy.

Port angle as measured is as close to 45 degrees as i could measure, from the intake manifold face meaning if my math is up to par 45 degrees from the combustion face also.

The seat profile is as per OEM with the seat taken out to to diameter of the valve.
The head is Volkswagen Golf Mk1, "DX" model code, you've likely done many of them I would think.
I hope these photos will do, I dont appear to have one with the port angle in a profile type of shot unfortunately.

yes - a fair bit of downdraft - those seat angles should be OK. Thanks for the pics.
