Engine Identification Help

Post by moggyman64 »

Hi Guy,

Can you please identify my engine, I dont know the exact year etc.

Stamped on the block is: 132 DB 2A O Fiat
Stamped on the head is: FF 132 DB 2AO S62 4372748

I note that the engine block on page 84 of your book has the same markings.

I bought the engine four years ago and want to replace main and big end bearings but the sizes listed in the haynes manual dont tally up with what is fitted in the engine.
The previous owner had replaced the main and big end bearings and valves etc and judging by the thickness of the bearings and size of the journals the crank must have been re-ground.

Kind regards

Keith,

I think these markings are cast into the block/head, not stamped, right?
To properly ID the engine, the numbers that are stamped into a machined surface on the left side of the engine will be needed.
They are quite small and hard to see.

This is one where the casting numbers do help, it's a 131/132 2 liter Fiat TC.
