I've heard that the Fiat 1.9 JTD engine uses the same block as the Fiat twin cam, but can anyone confirm this? If so, I was wondering which parts may be of use from them to use on a twin cam.

I currently have a failing starter motor (it labours to turn over the engine, and rather alarmingly, smokes a bit!) so it would be handy to know if starter motors from other engines such as the JTD can be used, as well as other parts of course...

not sure about JTD, but i think the Lancia Beta / Montecarlo etc have the same starters as block mounting details should be the same as the Fiat twincam.
