All about fine stones.

Post by Piotrek125p »

Hi.

GC, You often recommend to use a fine stones from Norton in engine re building ops. Could You explain me more about this tools ? I am interested for:

-which type of Norton stone You use to stoning for alloys eg. cylinderhead

-which type of Norton stone You use for conrod cheeks

-which type oft Norton stone You use for engine block

I bought a red Norton Indian stone. It works very good with alloys, I get a very smooth (silk touch) surface, but it leaves a very delicate round scratches. I used a plenty of light machining oil.

Please give me a comprehensive respond, this is a very important part of race engine preparation.

Sincerely
Piotrek.
