flexhone for bronze valve guides

Post by WhizzMan »

What grit flex hone should I purchase if I want to flex hone bronze valve guides? target engines include 16V turbo Fiat TC as used in Lancia Delta, Fiat Coupe and such and various Alfa Romeo engines with aluminum heads.

If tight rough-out with 180 grade Alumina Zirconia and for finishing use 240 grade Aluminium Oxide.

Z grain alumina zirconia is what we use - a bit more durable than silicon carbide. When the hones get worn you can run them backwards but be careful - doing that gives a high removal rate..
