110 Amp alternator, Gearreduction Starter for Fiat 124/131

Post by vandor » Thu Feb 24, 2011 2:07 am

We have developed a Ford alternator conversion for the Fiat 124 Spider. It can be used on other 124 based cars, as well as most 131s. The alternator is nominally rated at 95 amps, but none of the ones sold so far (over 2 dozen) were tested at less than 110 amps. Other than the larger current (amp) capacity, the main advantage is that it puts out a steady 14.5-14.7 volts, about one volt more than the stock Bosch/Marelli units. Since there is quite a bit of voltage loss at connections and switches,
this ensures that proper voltage gets to all electrical accessories. The lights will be brighter, wipers and fans faster!
It will mount without any problems in the stock location on the left side. Cars with the alternator on the right (exhaust) side need to have the upper mount modified, or use or custom lower mount. Comes with all hardware and an electrical pigtail, so all the car's wires plug right in. This is a new internally regulated alternator, not rebuilt.
Price is $199 USD, plus shipping.

We also carry a new Nippondenso Gear-reduction starter for the Fiat 124/131. This unit uses less power than the stock starter, turns the engine faster, and weighs about half as much! Price is $209 USD, plus shipping.
Thanks,

Guy,

OK, I'll make sure it's not a rock in the box :-)
Actually these work real well, I have had one in my own car for 3 years without any trouble.

You call that a smile? :)
