Some useful stuff for those who want to upload pictures but don't know how to prep them for the site.
Resizing - use Pixresizer from:

Cropping (to remove unwanted areas) - use PhotoPad from:
http://www.nchsoftware.com/photoeditor/index.html
Photopad is the only free system that allows you to crop horizontally and vertically rather than just diagonally.
The downloads are free and excellent. I used both very extensively when prepping my new book.
