Low-temperature 16v thermostat

Post by NickRP » Mon Jul 10, 2017 7:30 am

After upgrading to fully mappable engine thermal management, this low-temperature thermostat for 16v head is not needed any longer.

It regulated engine coolant temperature is about 70°C (see attached graph). Opening start is at about 67°C (dimple on the graph).

The thermostat is apparently not new, but fully operational. I need to mention one (purely cosmetic — in my opinion) deficiency, namely the bottom fixing hole was split by the previous owner. I have made a custom stepped washer (also included) which perfectly matches the thermostat housing and ensures even spread of tightening forces.

Price: GBP 60 + shipping (or free local pickup, of course).

Hi Nikola

good post and good results, maybe you should post it in 'Sales & Wants' too?
